Biography

Remsen—Faith Bowen Williams, 81, of Evans Road passed away November 22, 2009 surrounded by her family. She was born in the Town of Steuben on November 1, 1928 a daughter of George and Corinne Merrick Bowen and graduated from Remsen Central School as Salutatorian in 1946. She entered Faxton Nursing School and was employed at Rome Hospital for 28 years before retiring. She was a member of the Remsen United Methodist Church and the UMW, The XYZ Seniors, D.A.R., Steuben Grange, and president of the PTA at Remsen Central School. For many years she operated Curley’s Berry Patch on Evans Road.
Surviving are her two sons and daughters-in-law John and Amy Williams; Mark and Dawn Williams all of Remsen; one daughter and son-in-law Linda and Sam Gagnon, Boonville; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two husbands Lloyd (Curley) Williams and Cyril Tatham and four sisters Lucille, Beatrice, Hulda and Ruth.
Services will be Wednesday November 25 at 11am at the Ackley-Mills Funeral Home 9597 Main Street, Remsen with Rev. Kent Trievel officiating. Calling Hours will be Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8pm at the funeral home.
