Biography

Hawkinsville—Casmer J. Faber, 88 of Hawkinsville Road passed away at home on September 8, 2010 surrounded by his family.
He was born at the family farm on the Hawkinsville Road in the town of Boonville on July 22, 1922 a son of John and Lottie Hendricks Faber. In 1958 Casmer started farming in the town of Vienna in North Bay, then moving to Staceys Basin where he operated a Dairy Farm on Rte 46, which he sold in 1983. Casmer operated a saw mill for many years and on February 9, 2002 at the Boonville United Methodist Church he married Mildred Zevecke. He enjoyed woodworking, making childrens toys, wreaths, and restoring old tractors.
Surviving are his wife Mildred, four sons David, Hawaii; James R., Westdale, NY; Jerry, Syracuse; John, Boonville; five daughters Nancy Norrs, Oneida; Linda Hertz, Fl.; Judy Beilby, Rome; Kathy LaClare, Rome; Janet Egnew, Boonville; one brother Ab Faber, Boonville; one sister Ruby Mazur, Constableville; many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and ex-wife Joyce Luchsinger, Canastota. He was predeceased by one brother Charles Faber of Boonville.
Services will be 11AM Thursday at Mills Funeral Home 301 Post Street Boonville with Rev. William Mudge Officiating. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the funeral home. Interment in Boonville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care 4277 Middlesettlement Road New Hartford, NY 13413.
