Viania Ruth Faber


Hawkinsville-Viania Ruth Griffith Faber, 77, a resident of Hawkinsville, New York, passed away on November 12, 2010 after a long courageous struggle with cancer.
She was born October 13, 1933, the daughter of George M. Griffith and Bernice LaQuay Griffith. Ruth graduated from Boonville Central School in 1952. Following graduation she was employed by John Faber’s Bakery in Boonville, by the First National Bank of Boonville, Adirondack Oil of Boonville and then Fleet Bank of Boonville. After retiring from the bank she joined her husband and son, first in farming and then in C&T Enterprises.
On June 6, 1959 Ruth married Charles M. Faber in the Boonville Methodist Church. Mr. Faber passed away February 28, 2010. She is survived by one son, Timothy C. Faber, Hawkinsville. She is also survived by one brother, James (Doris) Griffith; four sisters, Betty (Allen) Hough, Bernice (Donald) Wahl, Joan A. Podkowka and Jean H. Salmon (and companion, John) and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Ruth was surrounded by a close and loving family, enjoyed working on the farm, gardening and she loved animals.
The funeral service will be Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Mills Funeral Home, 301 Post St., Boonville. Calling hours are Friday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
