Biography

Boonville/New Hartford—Joseph E. Frank Jr., 93, died on January 12, 2011 at the Prsebyterian Home, New Hartford. He was born in Boonville on December 27, 1917 a son of Joseph Sr. and Eliza Blum Frank. Joseph grew up in Boonville attending Boonville schools and he was employed as an Auto Mechanic at C. Hughes Autos, Boonville. In 1957 he started work for NYS Marcy State Hospital where he was a Therapy Aid in the children’s unit until retiring in 1982. In 1989 he married Marvis English. She died in 1997. Joseph enjoyed golf, snowmobiling, boy scouts, flying lessons when he was younger and always had a life-long interest in automobiles. His family would like to thank the staff at the Presbyterian Home especially on Cedar and Elm wings for the care and compassion given to Joey over the past six years.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law Janet and Frank Hamlett, Utica; one son Ronald Frank, Star Lake; five step children Richard and Donna Edick, Utica; Virginia Kogut, Rome; Ruby Hall, Rome; Sharon Doty and family, Cato; Timothy and Priscella English, Cato, NY; two sisters Cora Gage, Clinton; Nancy Penturf, Liverpool; several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by one stepson Frank O’brien; special step-grand daughter Theresa English,1997; sisters Violet Oaster; Iva Capron; Edna Secor; Hattie Krist; brothers John, Francis and Howard Frank.
Services are 1PM Saturday January 15, 2011 at the Mills Funeral Home 301 Post Street Boonville. Calling Hours are Saturday 11-1PM prior to the service. Burial in Boonville Cemetery in the spring.
